Massage & Beauty UK was founded in 2010 by former nurse David P Eaves.

Not only was it formed for the reasons mentioned on our home page but because David recognised that the massage industry and much of the beauty industry in the UK is completely unregulated. There is no such thing as an official massage qualification. This means that in fact anyone can call themselves a massage therapist and give massage treatments without having any qualifications and this is perfectly legal.  So for example an ITEC or BTEC massage qualification is absolutely no more official than any other and this is similar for many beauty qualifications.

Anyone who is a member of  Massage & Beauty UK must hold Professional Indemnity & Public Liability insurance, this way our clients have peace of mind that their therapists have also had some form of Professional training.

Our address is also the only dedicated hypnotherapy, complementary therapy centre and training college combined in the Midlands.

David also wanted to let people know the names behind the organisation to make it more personal.

 

We are working very hard behind the scenes talking to MP's to get massage & other Complementary therapies regulated more in Britain, this is proving a long hard task but we will not give up.

We hold monthly meetings whenever possible at our Head Office but we are also happy to hold them locally to members.
